Did you know that there is a Special Needs Fund available to all CASAs who identify an unmet need for the youth they are serving? Email your case supervisor or [email protected] to make a request. Coming soon – – a form to submit for these requests. Stay tuned!

Appropriate requests might include:

  • Sports gear or lessons

Gift Cards for Gas

We understand that driving to see your CASA youth/child can be a financial burden, especially if they are living out of the county. We are pleased to offer a gas gift card to support your volunteer efforts.

Please talk to your supervisor or email Sherene to request a gift card.

Free Cards for Your Foster Youth

We have partnered with Cards for Cubs, a nonprofit aiming to support and encourage young people in foster care through uplifting, handmade cards reminding them that they are not alone.

We have 150 birthday cards and 150 encouragement cards volunteers can use for your youth in our office.

Cake 4 Kids

Want to share a special cake with your CASA child? Say hello to Cake4Kids! Request submissions due 2 weeks before delivery and must be submitted through your Case Supervisor who will help you with the process. Reach out to case supervisors to get started.

FURS (Family Urgent Response System)

A hotline for former and current foster youth and their caregivers.  The FURS state-wide hotline is free and available 24/7/365.  This hotline is for youth, up to age 21, who have spent any time in foster care or the juvenile justice system. 

In Sonoma and Marin Counties, Seneca Family of Agencies provides the mobile response team offered by the FURS hotline.  This includes in-person support to youth and families to increase placement stabilization, decrease use of law enforcement, and help youth stay in a home setting.

Additional FURS Highlights:

  • The FURS hotline: 833-939-3877 is available for calls or texts 24/7
  • It provides personalized support and stabilization at the State and local level
  • The mobile response team includes two trained mental health professionals to provide in-person trauma-informed support, during crisis and urgent situations

FURS mobile response includes up to 14 days of aftercare and follow-up support, as needed.

Peer Support Services with Youth Alliance for Intersectional Justice

YAIJ Peer Support Services offer crucial social and emotional support for marginalized elementary and high school students, especially those who are racialized or have disabilities. These services address loneliness, isolation, and bullying, promoting the wellbeing of students as they navigate the school environment.
